About Us
Cloud Nine Scripts was established in 2017 by writer/director/producers Charles Savage and Sabine Jeleniowski in London. The company's focus is the acquisition and creation of new material. Both directors are dedicated to developing projects with new voices. Unusually, the development process of all projects, includes composer involvement from an early stage.
Georgia Muenster, with an arts background and a history of working in residency productions, joined Cloud Nine initially to organise the Pandora's box residency programme in Algarve, Portugal. She now also works across all aspects of production.
Biographies
Charles Savage has over 300 production credits as a director for theatre, tv and animation. He has been Artistic Director for five regional theatres.
He worked with Disney in Children's animation and later for the BBC and pioneered the transition of BBC's most loved Animation Characters (Postman Pat/Fireman Sam) into the first
full-scale stage musicals for young children.
He set up and ran the script development company Paragraph International at Pinewood Studios and over 10 years worked with the European Script Fund and independent producers on the development of projects and creating international co-productions.
In 2002 he headed up the script department for Film Development Cooperation London.
He has run a chain of cinemas and also
created the first performance, comedy writing and film degree at
the University of Southampton and was a visiting fellow in Screen Writing at
Bournemouth
University. He was managing producer with Handmade Films, again working on script development, and as a writer and director he wrote a 24-part series for BBC World Services on the history of world drama.
Sabine Jeleniowski is a creative producer originally from Cologne, Germany, and now based between London and Portugal. She has worked on a number of productions for tv and film
, including 'That Good Night' (2017) and 'Waiting for Anya' (2017) as well as shorts 'Alone' (2017), 'Bloom (2017) and Found Dead (2016)
. She completed an MA in Digital Film and Television Production at the University of York in 2016, and previously worked for Köln.tv and ITV Studios.
Sabine also holds a BA in Media Design with a focus on Film and Television from Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln (
University of Applied Sciences Cologne)
, where she completed a thesis on website accessibility for blind and visually impaired people (Design Award-nominated).
Her visual skills and passion for the camera has led her to writing and to directing.
Pandora’s Box Residencies
An intensive residency programme for young filmmakers focusing on skills development and training, culminating in a series of new video projects. A pilot project was held in April-May 2019 in the Algarve, hosted by the Loulé Film Office and Cloud Nine Scripts. The programmes are designed for students studying for careers in hands-on film and television production, offering a chance to produce original work alongside international filmmakers.
